FLEMISH SUMMER RAIN

Heard distant rumble of thunder,

Sky recited it's poems in noisy wonder,

Lamp posts cast kaleidoscope of light,

Dancing across puddles, in rainy night.

Town's sky wore cloak of sullen gray,

Leak proof to prevent entry of moon's rays,

Fluctuating between downpour & drizzle,

As ice cold westerlies floated to whistle.

Cobblestone street glittered with raindrops,

As rain pounded with beat of hip-hop,

Pattering on roof of Swiss style cottages,

As some were relishing Belgian pottage.

Some brave souls ventured out to dance,

To beat of rain as air was filled with romance

"I am singing in the rain, in the rain,

What a marvellous feeling, I am happy again"
